Pilates mats provide a stable surface on which to do Pilates exercises. They also prevent injuries by distributing your body weight evenly. Pilates mats are available in different sizes and shapes, making them compatible with most Pilates exercises.

Pilates mats are a great way to increase your Pilates routine and improve your overall fitness. They help you to focus on the correct alignment of your body, and they also provide support while you're working out. First make sure that it's the right size for you. Most mats come in either a square or rectangle shape, but some are specifically designed for Pilates exercises. Once you have chosen a mat, fold it in half so that the long sides are equal in length.

Place it on the floor next to your Pilates reformer or exercise machine. Make sure that your feet are flat on the floor, assuring proper alignment of your spine. Place your hands at shoulder-width apart on top of the mat, with your palms facing down.

Next, start by pressing down into the heels of both feet to create pressure against the mat beneath them. Keeping your core engaged and chest lifted, slowly lift both legs off of the mat and return them to their starting position.

To finish your workout, slowly lower both legs to the mat and press down into the heels of both feet to create pressure against the mat beneath you. Keeping your core engaged and chest lifted, slowly lift both legs off of the mat and return them to their starting position.
